This article is not about spatial awareness.

Do you remember when you were a kid?

When trees could actually move, when shadows whispered scary stories, and life was fun?

How did you end up an adult, with no awareness of your surroundings or those near you?

These are questions that I have been pondering over for the past month, and frankly, I have reached a constructive conclusion.

We somehow believe (or at least, have been made to believe) that life can be summarized in bullet points, must dos, must nots, procedures, and timelines.

But that’s not it.

Life is a grandeur concept, an abstract construct if you’d like, that’s never ending, unyielding, and has no rules.

No matter what you do as a profession, regardless of your hobbies, and regardless how many friends you have, nothing matters unless you do two things.

  1. Be happy.
  2. Truly connect with your surroundings.

Only when you truly know thyself can you truly know what/who you want to induct to your life. And only then, will you have the goldilock sircumstances needed to feel like you truly connect.
