Poetry on love, betrayal and deceipt.
Fear not,
the love that kisses you goodnight
though frail as she may be, is boundless and kind.
Powerfully etched into your soul
tightly keeping you afloat the weightless reality we delve into,
holding you as the pillar of life and creation.
Fear for them,
the gloomy eyes, the gentle touches and the empty goodbyes
for when the door closes
it’s not they who care to the bandages that keep your wounds from sipping blood
nor are they who sing you to sleep,
with a tender caress that far surpasses the most grandeur of signs hedonism can resort to.
Her endearments merely cherish,
and turn your eyes away from the blackness of the world
for thou shall “beware of the Danaoi bearing gifts”.
Love is kind and pure,
and pretending so, can be easy
for those unkind and wicked enough to lust for her.
So, should your heart waiver
make sure your allegiance to purity doesn’t.
Because her smile,
that will make it worth it.
