Dreamy Life

The princess, the writer and the poet.

Flashes are the moments that move before our eyes

in this endless battle with pain and strife,

where we claim eternal bliss;

sweet as a summer night.

How right you are Mathilde,

daughter of Jean.

Yet, how wrong.

At nights I weep for those I lost,

and in agony I dread the things that come.

Though quitting life,

I never did and never shall –

For its’ thoughtful touch never seizes to comfort me –

Regardless of scorching days and blistering nights.

Love I shall,

and believe I will,

in peace and kindness as I had been shown,

and thus, I prosper.

In delight I embrace all the hardships I find

and with a laughter I erase the strife that escaped my lips,

while eternal bliss awaits at the end of each day,

as Cicero foretold.

In me I find tranquility;

Purpose, I find in living.
